Support Our Cause

The Black Writers Museum has continued in its mission only because of the donations and support of the public.  Supporters at every level have helped us provide educational, inspirational, and cultural arts exhibits and activities that unite our community.  While preserving written history, our programming is assured because of the support of those who share our mission.  Donors and volunteers are vital components of the BWM.

Additional Ways to Give

Volunteers

Volunteers are key to the success of many of our programs, events, and activities.  The lifeline to smaller institutions, volunteers help us deliver impactful exhibits and enduring experiences. Your time and skills are the resources that help us keep Black Literature alive!

Please complete the Volunteer Form if you would like to volunteer with the Black Writers Museum.

Gifts

Gifts have been a primary acquisition method of increasing the BWM collection.  Supporters from across the United States have gifted precious literary and visual material that has bolstered the BWM exhibits, archives, and library, providing scholars, students, tourists, and others with elemental experiences and depth in understanding our past and present.

Books, journals, newspapers, magazines, meeting minutes, posters, documents, wax and taped recordings, art, music, artifacts, and all things literary, written, and spoken are some of the gifts that help us preserve and present history, art, culture, time, and space.

If you have items that you would like to gift to the Black Writers Museum, please complete the Gift Form.

For more information on the various ways to support the Black Writers Museum, don't hesitate to get in touch with us at 267-297-3078 or donate@thebwm.org.

BWM is a program partner of the Urban Affairs Coalition, its fiscal sponsor. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
