The Barbara Daniel-Cox Collection

The Barbara Daniel-Cox Collection of Black Culture and Expression was gifted by one of Philadelphia’s iconic and culturally grounded community advocates, Barbara Daniel-Cox.  An array of African wood carvings and handmade metal artifacts, books, records, art, photographs, posters, and African and African American ephemera, this collection was garnered from decades of international and local advocacy, experience, and travel. The BDC collection serves as an influential and transforming aesthetic exhibit experience of the Black Writers Museum.
